Food Imports to India from the World: Prospects and Way Forward

India is one of the fastest growing markets in the world. Among the various sectors contributing to the growth of the economy, food is one of the fastest growing sectors owing to factors such as a large population base, rising middle-class, increase in per-capita income, and greater consumer
awareness. Several initiatives have been taken by the Indian government in recent years to improve the ease of doing business and reduce the compliance burden through use of
technology- but still India ranking is indicative that we as a country need to take a few more steps. Post-COVID, there is an investible surplus, both governments are committed, other stakeholders are committed, what is needed is clear investable projects to be identified addressed by both the public and private sector.

Below are the points of discussion:

  • Reduce cost, time taken and clearance in importing food products
  • Improve India’s ranking in logistics performance indicators
  • What can be done to improve the ease of doing business
Session 4
5:50 pm - 6:15 pm
Trends in Hospitality - Focus on the future of the Food Industry
Panel-Discussion-IFD-Forum-2023

To be well versed with the most recent fads and innovation in the hospitality industry, we glanced over the latest bulletin and drew the inference that the trending headline is FOOD. As it is known that food has always played an essential role in the hospitality sector, where they can only become more resilient as it has a substantial influence on service quality of hotels and restaurants.

Keeping in mind how 2022 has laid out how much our food system is weak against extreme events,

  • What does the future of the food industry hold for us?
  • What's changing in the food industry?
  • What innovations have caught the most attention?

Dubai is the most popular country in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the capital of the Emirate of Dubai. Dubai is a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates known for luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife. Burj Khalifa, an 830m-tall tower, dominates the skyscraper-filled skyline.

Just 5 hours from Europe and 3 hours from most parts of the Middle East, the Near East, and the subcontinent of India, Dubai makes a great short break for shopping, partying, sunbathing, fine dining, sporting events, and even a few sinful pleasures. It is a city of superlatives: for the fastest, biggest, tallest, largest and highest, Dubai is the destination. It has the largest immigrant population in the world.
